DIY Baby Shark Cupcakes
The twins turned 1 and we had a Baby Shark Themed Birthday party! You all know I live for a good DIY Birthday party 😊 Check out these homemade cupcakes I made for the party, details below.
Ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 16oz bag of Mini Marshmallows
- 1 bag of powdered sugar
- Food coloring
- Crisco Oil
- Babyshark Cookie Cutters
- Vanilla Extract (Or any flavoring of your choice)
Instruction for Marshmallow Fondant:
- Place the bag of marshmallows in a microwave safe bowl
- Add 2 tbsp of water to the marshmallows and place in the microwave for 1 min
- Stir the marshmallows until all the lumps have dissolved
- Add the flavor extract
- Add the powdered sugar and stir in with a spatula
- On a clean counter surface take some crisco cooking oil and spread it across the counter (This will help the mixture to not stick)
- Knead the fondant mixture like bread dough until the mixture is smooth and not sticky (PS: If the mixture is very sticky, add more Powdered sugar)
- Add the food coloring to the center of the mixture and continue kneading the fondant (For the Babyshark fondant you will need Red, Green, Black, Pink, Yellow and Blue food coloring. Its best to split up the fondant into multiple sections and add the different food colorings. I purchased some food coloring from Amazon and was very pleased with the quality. Here is the link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CSRDBCR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )
- Use the cookie cutters to make the different sections of your shark
- Take your finger and dab it in water and spread a thin layer of water on the fondant to make it stick to the other fondant pieces
