10 Years and a lifetime to go

My husband and I just got back from celebrating our 10 Year wedding anniversary.  I still can’t believe 10 years flew by as fast as it did.  In 10 years we have managed to have/raise 5 amazing children.  Our 19 year old son, 8, 5 and 1 year old twin daughters.  God has truly blessed us and we’re only getting better.  This trip we decided it was all about us.  We did have a little anxiety about leaving the girls but all of them were in good hands.  Between my family and my husbands family they were able to care for all the girls and they didn’t miss a beat.  It really pays to have a supportive support system and family that is also invested in your marriage because I don’t know who was more excited about us taking this trip us or our family!

This was the most relaxing all inclusive trips I’ve ever been on, we literally relaxed, talked, cuddled and loved on each other the whole trip.  This trip we talked about our past, present and future and where we see ourselves and our family going.  Its always great to be on one accord as a couple and this trip definitely helped us to level set so we can finish this year strong and start 2020 on a good foot.

Whenever we are asked to offer advice to others on how we have sustained our marriage we always take the opportunity to share scripture Mark 10:7-9.  The devil has certainly tried us and our marriage but we’ve only gotten stronger and God has shown us so much grace and mercy in our marriage that we have no choice but to be successful in it.  God is still working on us and it’s such a beautiful thing to witness but some advice for other married couples is it’s important to surround yourself with others that also put God as the center of their marriage and that will tell you when you are right or wrong.  Forgiveness is important and whatever expectations you had of marriage going in, throw those out the window because you’ll have to both set expectations and be in agreement on what those look like for your marriage.  Don't try to be anyone but yourself because God cant bless a fraudulent you.  Marriage is fun, exciting, liberating and there is nothing like having a lifelong partner to do life with.  We have so much favor on our lives and we cant wait to see what else is in store for us!  #PlairForever #Jezebeldontevenstandachance

Mark 10:7-9 NIV
‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
